Ultrasound Findings Report Fibroid In Mid Uterus And Trace Of Fluid In The Cul De Sac. Is It Something Serious?

Hi,

I just received my ultrasound report and this is what it reads:

FINDINGS: The uterus is tilted and somewhat heterogeneous, measuring 6.4 x 3.4 x 4.8 cm in size. A 2.4 x 3.0 x 2.8 cm fibroid is noted within the right mid uterus. The endometrium measures 9 mm in thickness.

The right ovary measures 2.4 x 2.0 x 2.5 cm in size, while the left measures 3.5 x 3.0 x 1.7 cm. The ovaries are nrmal in appearance. The is a trace of free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

Can you explain a little bit what this means?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The fibroid in your uterus is small in size. If it is symptomatic- associated with an increased amount of bleeding during the periods then an active treatment or surgery needs to be considered.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
