Transvaginal Ultrasound Showing Retroverted Uterus, Nabothian Cyst In The Cervix, Cyst In Ovary. Anything To Be Worried?

I had a transvaginal ultra sound today. This is what the report says...The uterus is retroverted. The endometrial echo complex measures two mm in thickness. No fibroids identified. There is a nabothian cyst in the cervix. Tright ovary measures 2.6x2.3x2.2, left one measures 2.2x1.7x1.4. There is vascualr flow in both ovaries. There are follicles in both ovaries. The largest follicle/cyst which is mildly complex measure 17 mm on the right. There is trace free fluid in the right adnexa. I am 43 years old. I have very heavy menstrual cycles and have been experiencing lower back ache on right side and a dull ache on the lower right abdomen. Is there anything to worry about based on the radiology report?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
A went through your complaints and report. You have
1)     Nabothian cyst in the cervix
2)     Ovarian Cyst
3)     Collection of free fluid in the pelvic floor
4)     Lower back pain - right side and a dull ache on the lower right abdomen.
For the above complaints, You need Hormone analysis of Thyroid and Ovary to assess the hormone secretions because of the presence of ovarian cyst and profuse bleeding
Complete vaginal examination + A PAP Smear - to assess the Nabothian cyst, cervix and inner aspect of vagina.
A complete pelvic and abdominal examination + CT or MRI examination of abdomen and pelvis to find out the cause for free fluid in pelvic floor. May be Pelvic inflammatory Disease (PID)
Usually a simple infection may produce all these symptoms.
Find out what is the cause .Treat them accordingly

All my best wishes

Hi
Normal position of uterus is in retroverted position..
Nabothiin cyst are harmless and disappears on its own..
Ovaries are in normal size with 17 mm follicle in the right ovary.

But regarding your complaints, heavy menstrual cycles may be due to hormonal imbalances like thyroid hormones.
Do you have any burning micturition?Any discharge?
Your symptoms looks like pelvic inflammatory disease..Consult gynecologist for more suggestions..

Your ultrasound report is normal except for the presence of nabothian cyst which also resolves on its own..
Thank you
