Took Microgynon Pills After Having Unprotected Sex. Brownish Discharge, Cramps. What Is It?
Hi there, I have had unprotected sex with my boyfriend last week however I was told that taking 4xmicrogynon tablets would act as a morning after pill. I am now experiencing a very rumbly upper tummy and period like cramps with a brown runny discharge at times, my period is not due for maybe another week and a half, what could this be?

Use of the pills in high doses usually disturbs the normal hormonal balance in the body and leads to withdrawal bleeds. The cramps could be a side effect of the hormone as well. You may exclude/confirm pregnancy by performing a serum beta-hCG assessment at least 10 days after the intercourse. See your consultant if you do not get a period within 10 days of your due date for further help. Good luck.
