Took PlanB After Unprotected Sex, Having Mild Cramping, Increased Discharge, Pimples On Face. Am I Pregnant ?
Hello! I foolishly had unprotected sex right 1 AM day 13 of my menstrual cycle (July 13). I took Plan B One Step about 36 hours later. My period is fairly regular and is due to arrive sometime between July 29 and 31. I have been having mild cramping and I've noticed increased discharge...thicker and and it dries white as well as a few pimples on my face. I have had no spotting of any kind of breast tenderness or any other symptoms usually associated with pregnancy. It has been 10 days since I had unprotected sex.
I've read that you are supposed to get withdrawal bleeding a week or so after you take Plan B One Step and I have had no withdrawal bleeding. Does that mean I'm pregnant? I know that Plan B delays your period, but the reading I've done suggests that most women seem to get spotting and get their period within a week or so after taking Plan B. Any insights?
Hi, Emergency contraception causes disruption of the normal hormonal milieu and thus causes breakthrough bleeding but this is not seen in everyone; some do not experience any withdrawal bleed. Moreover, since you have taken the medication within the stipulated time, you are protected. Your symptoms could be premenstrual. If you do not see your next cycle 10-14 days after your due date, please contact your consultant for further help. Hope your query is answered. Good luck.
