Tickling In Anus, Feeling Of Movement. What Is This?

Hi. I normally have no problems passing stools and go regularly and with minimum effort. I consider myself healthy and eat plenty of fruit and veg. A few months ago this changed and I d quite often sit on the toilet wondering if I was actually going to go . This has then been followed by an occasional feeling of movement or a tickle within the anus . The apparent constipation has now passed and my movements are now back to what I would consider normal however a couple of weeks ago my anus was itchy followed by being sore to the touch for a few days. Again, this has now passed however the feeling of movement or a tickle within the anus has increased and has been a daily feature for a few weeks now. What could this be please? Thank you.

Hi ! Possibly during the phase of constipation, the hard stool might have caused an abrasioin (ulcer) in your anal passage resulting in a fissure in ano, which was sore at a point of time. This possibly healed of its own once the your bowel movements became normal, and the same healed fissure might be giving rise to a sense of itchiness at the site. I would suggest you to do some sitz bath ( sitting on a tub of luke warm water) twice daily, and maintain hygiene of the area. If the problem continues, then you can consult your family physician for a physical examination who may also give you a deworming medication. Wishing you an earlly recovery.
