Taking Ortho Tryclean Lo. Had Sex And Pregnancy Test Was Negative. What Could Be The Reason For Delay In Periods?

Im on birth control over 3 years the pill ortho tryclean lo. The last time I had sex was may 5,2013. I had my period every month but last month september which my period was due september 11,2013 but it never showed. My october period is suppose to be here the 10th. I took 3 pregnancy test and they all said not pregnant. Why isnt my period here for the month of september.

I might be stress but not sure. Also I started to exercise. This has never happen to me before

- Contraceptive pills can cause side effects like delayed periods or amenorrhea etc.
- Changes in dietary habits or exercise schedule can affect the menstrual cycle by altering the hormonal levels.
-Stress and strain also can alter the menstrual cycle by acting on hormones.
-Thyroid hormonal abnormalities can lead to menstrual irregularity.
So, one of these problems could be the cause for your problem.
As you are using the contraceptive pills as per the schedule, the possibility of pregnancy is less.
If still you are having doubt regarding pregnancy, once go for blood test for pregnancy.
If the test comes negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less.
You can continue with your tablets.
