Swollen Eye, Blurred Vision. Taken Nepafenac. Light Sensitivity Due To Eye Drop?

I am 24 old indian boy. I was having slight sluggish view and swelling in left eye. My doctor suggested me for nepafenac opthalmic eye drop after using that drop for 15 days i noticed slight improvement but my eye became light sensitive i.e; during day time I started having blurred vision starting from centre of eye. Is this due to usage of drop or it is cataract.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Nepafen is an opthalmic eye drops commonly used after cataract surgery.
Did your opthalmologist found a cataract i your eye?
If yes, then this preparation is used for this condition.
Nepafenac belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
It is quite safe but some side effects may develop.
Some of them are harmless and can be ignored like pain, headache, nausea, vomoting, dry eyes, itchy eyes etc.
However, there are certain side effects which need to be repoted to the opthalmologist.
These symptoms include red eyes, foriegn body sensation, sentivity to light, blurred vision, eye discharge, etc.
You have mentioned that you are experiencing senstivity to light and blurring of vision.
These symptoms are larming.
They are probably due to side effect of the eye drops.
Discontinue the use of the Nepafenac eye drops and consult your opthalmologist for a change or decrease in dose of the drug.

Thanks and take care
