Suggest Treatment For Hole In The Heart Of A Toddler
HI MY SON IS 5YEARS TWO MONTHS OLD .HE HAS DEXTROCARDIAC SITUS INVERSES AND ALSO A HOLE IN HEART AT THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH .BUT WE HAVE NOT UNDERGONE ANY TREATMENT OR TEST AFTER THAT . NOW PROBLEM IS THAT HIS GROWTH IS NOT UPTO HIS AGE AND HE OFTEN HAS SEVERE COLD AND COUGH .SOMEONE HAS TOLD ME THAT THIS MAY BE DUE TO HOLE IN HEART NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO WHAT ARE THE TREATMENTS FOR IT AND IS THERE ANY AGE LIMIT FOR THESE TREATMENT I AM AN INDIAN .SUGGEST ME

It could be because of the hole in the heart which can lead onto increased pulmonary blood supply and wet lungs or it could be a different syndrome called Kartagener syndrome where there could be bronchiectasis in the lungs reading on to recurrent respiratory infections. I suggest you discuss these possibilities with his pediatrician.
