OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,
One single episode of bleeding without any obvious pathology does not warrant removal of the uterus. It is likely that your wife could be suffering from hormonal imbalance as is common during peri-menopausal age. I would ask you to take her to a gynecologist for a complete evaluation and further management. A course of styptics and hormones usually suffice when there is no other organic pathology. Please ask her to take good diet and plenty of liquids. She may also need iron supplements. Hope this helps.
