Suggest Treatment For A Red Blood Spot In The Eye

my son had a road accident on 21st Jan 2012 while he was driving bike with a mini bus and he fell down on the street. Due to sudden fall he had bleeding from his nose which we did not stop so that blood clot may not stop in brain. We got immediately CT Scan of his head which was o.k. and in OPG it appeared his jaw near the right chick bone only cracked in a very thin line. In the evening on the same day we saw red spot of blood in his right eyes near corner and red & black circles around his both eyes. Doctor has suggested OFLOXACIN EYE/EAR DROPS 2 drops tds in his eyes and apply ice pad on his eyes. We did it now the circles around eye have been lessen but red spot of blood in his right eye is still there. He has no pain or vision problem with this red blood spot but how will it disappear or cured completely .

Hello
It seems from the history that your son is having red spot in the eye.
This indicates subconjunctival hemorrhage and it is because of impact of injury resulting in bleeding.
This will resolve by itself as the blood gets absorbed over 1-2 weeks.
Since vision is not affected and other symptoms related to eye are absent no need to worry.

Thank you
