Suggest Risk Of Pregnancy With Diabetes Insipidus

My adopted daughter has diabetes insipidus. Originaly I was told that she would not have a very long life span. After turning of age she has not been taking any of her meds. We were told that she would never be able to have children and has never had a period. Last night she told me she is 2 months pregant. What kind of risks to herself and the baby are we facing?

Hi.

The main risk is of growth and development. The pregnancy is going to be high risk so the risk of a miscarriage is always present during the firs trimester. later on we have the risk of premature labour and during delivery time we have a possible fetal head: maternal pelvis disproportion resulting from possible fetal macrosomia.

I would either way recommend an elaborate examination by an OBGHN before taking this pregnancy further.

Best wishes.
