Suggest Remedy For Vomiting And Diarrhea After Taking Topirimate For Epilepsy
Hi, I have been prescribed topirimate (think it is spelt right) for epilepsy. I started them on Wednesday but today I have vomiting and diorreah. Will it be the tablets (as these are side effects of the medication) or a bug as the symptoms have only just started. Tia.
Topiramate is an anticonvulsant prescribed for preventing epileptic seizures and migraineheadaches. Common side effects of topiramate are diarrhea and vomiting but do not stop using Topiramate without first talking to your doctor because the risk of seizures may increase. Until you take an appointment with your doctor here are some advice. Drink plenty of fluids, and follow the "BRAT" diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast) to help ease symptoms. Take care to stay hydrated. Electrolyte solutions can be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
