Dr. i am from Sri Lanka one month ago I underwent a thyroide operation and they removed the full thyroide gland. Since I was feeling weak I went and took a TSH blood test and the result was 54.60 which dr said is way too high. After the operation I had been taking thyroxine tablet 100 ml and now he increased into 200 from this morning. Is this situation really bad ? You think this could be cured. And what should I do apart from taking medicine for the cure of this.
Hi I have gone through your query & understand your concern. After total removal of thyroid gland, patients are out on tablet thyroxine. And it takes time to adjust dose so whatever is happening to you is a normal thing. So stop being that much anxious & worried. Once your TSH levels are normalized you will know what dose to continue & you will spend a normal healthy life later on. There is no dietary management for this. Thanks for contacting HCM.
