Suggest Possible Treatment For Vertigo

Having issues with vertigo and an ENT can t get me in until July. It s mostly my right ear that has occasional pain, extreme sensitivity to loud noises (I went to a hockey game and everyone was yelling at the sound is hard to describe but everything goes fuzzy) and I have vertigo when I move my head. Constantly feel the need to rest my head in my hands or lean on something to stabilize myself. The issue comes and goes, it goes away for about a week and something must trigger it to start up again. I really want to know what this could be because if all it takes is physical therapy to correct it I could be better before July.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

Regarding your query for vertigo I would like to tell you that treatment of vertigo depends on the site of lesion and type of vertigo. This is basically of two types-

1- Central vertigo.

2- Peripheral vertigo.

Vertigo due to ear diseases are included in peripheral vertigo. In otogenic vertigo again every treating doctor wants to know the site of lesion for giving you best results of treatment. These all will be possible by your consultation with ENT doctor. Till you are in waiting for specialist you may take-

1- Cinnarzine / Betahistine / Stemetil.

2- Tab ginkovas.

3- Low salt diet.

By above general treatment you feel some comfort and your ENT lateron will examine you and further treatment may be planed.

Regards
