Suffer From PCOs With A Surgery Done Too. Take Oral Contraceptives Provera & Depo-provera On/off To Regularise The Periods. Is There Any Other Solution To Get Regular Periods?
Hi, I am 31yrs old with irregular periods..well they have always been irregular since high school. Its been confirmed that I have pcos.. I have been on oral contraceptives, provera and depo-provera on/off.. I even had surgery for a large cyst 2yrs ago.. My periods are still not coming on its own... Is there another solution to my irregular periods or will I have to be on pills for a looong time? Thanks CR
Hi. PCOS causes hormonal imbalance due to which periods are irregular. You will have to take pills for long time to regularise the periods and keep on getting withdrawl bleeding.Progesterone pills are certainly better than combined pills for long time use to prevent risk of breast carcinoma. This is the only way to keep periods regular. You can also try progesterones only in 2nd half of your cycle. Thanks.
