One possibility I can think of is acute rheuamtic fever which presents with sorethroat and subcutaneous nodules etc. This is usually seen following a streptococcal infection
. I would advise you to take your son to a paediatrician as he needs a complete physical examination and certain blood tests like complete blood picture to look for leukocytosis
, raised ESR or C reactive protein
Any other history of joint pains
, high grade fever, skin rash along with the current symptoms?
In the meantime, he should do warm saline gargles 3 times a day to get relief from sore throat
. Drink plenty of warm fluids.
