Pediatrician 's  Response

Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
Do not panic.
The fever should subside once the infection goes away with the antibiotic therapy.
Meftal is only prescribed to control high fevers not responding to paracetamol.
Meftal has some side effects too...it can cause hypothermia, renal damage and decrease platelets.
So use only when necessary.
I would advice cold sponging rather than using meftal in this scenario.
Remove the earring for sure.If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing your child a speedy recovery.
Have a nice day.
