Should I Be Worried As A Mucous Sac Was Dislodged Into My Throat From Nasal Passages?

Hi. I have had a bad running nose for 2 weeks, with no other flu-like symptoms. Just now, a blood/mucous sac was dislodged into my throat fro my nasal passages. I was sucking snot into my throat, as one does, when this sac came into my throat. The sac is not just mucous, it appears to have s shape, like a large kidney bean.

Thank you,
Worried guy

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi and thanks for the query,
The mucous sac that you saw may be a polyp.
Polyps are grape like structures and when they occur in the nose the condition is called nasal polyposis.
They cause syptoms like persistent running, blocked nose, sneezing and headaches.
Detailed examination of the nose is necessary to know the extent of nasal polyposis.
Dont worry. Nasal polyposis is very common.
It can be effectively treated with sprays or surgery depending upon the extent.
Regards Dr Kishori.
