Ruptured Hymen, Excessive Vaginal Bleeding, No Penetration. Healing Time?
hi doctor..may i ask you a question. My boyfriend accidently rupture my hymen ..no penetration had accured, since then i suffered from a sever hemorrhage like i m in a period, my question, how long the bleeding continues and is it because a wound in hymen or total rupture ..(since no penetration had done).. Thank you previously
Hi,
Rupture of the hymen usually causes only a small amount of bleeding in the count of a few milliliters only and should stop within a few minutes assuming you do not have any bleeding problem. If the bleeding however occurs from other causes then it might continue as long as the incriminating blood vessel is sealed off. In any event you should check your dates to correlate if the bleeding is due to your period. In the event that the dates do not match you should visit a gynecologist to exclude any serious form of injury which can cause persistent bleeding and needs intervention.
