Right-sided Headache And Neck Pain. History Of Left-sided Migraines. Causes For Symptoms?
I have been having SEVERE head and neck pains on my right side for 2 weeks. The pain is unimaginable. It starts where the Semispinalscapitis and Splenius Capitus meets the skull on the right hand sice. The pain comeone like its by a switch and completely goes away like a switch wes flipped. I DO have migraines but have ALWAYS been left temple area. My normal migraine meds do NOTHING for this. I we thinking menengitis at first but no fever and no nausea . These attacks happen 4-5 times a day and last about 20mins to an hour. I have done a lot of research but am coming up with nothing. Help greatly appreciated!
From the nature of pain, frequency (4-5 times a day) and duration (20-60 Min), I suspect cluster headache in your case. You can discus about it with your physician.
Apart from that, it is better to rule out other causes of headache in following hierarchy:
-Pathology in ear, teeth, sinus or eyes, specially infection
-High BP.
-Vision problem
-Anxiety and stress
-Neurological cause: may need MRI for that.
Your treatment will depend on cause of headache. So get yourself evaluated for above causes.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Wish you Good Health.
