Right Knee Hurts On Standing Or Sitting For Long. What Is It?
I am having some trouble with my right knee. As im standing up for to long, it hurts, or once ive been sitting too long it hurts. Its on the right side of my right knee, with a pain from underneath the knee. I work in retail so it involves alot of bending. I am often waking up at silly hours of the morning with real bad pain in it, to the point i cant even lay still. What do you think this could be?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Pain unilaterally that is severe after prolonged standing or sitting may be due to many reason. Most common being osteoarthritis. Get done one xray done for diagnosis. If there is any restriction of movement, range of movement, swelling it suggests some damage to the tissue. Do regular stretching exercises withreduction of weight. Drink plenty of fluids. Keep changing the posture. Consult your doctor for further examination and management. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries. Wish you good health. Take care.
Regards Dr. Lohit
