Hi,
In the current scenario, the drugs given to you were absolutely necessary to control the abnormal bleeding. It is true that almost every medication has certain side effects and so are these. Use of progesterone may cause bloating, rashes and vascular reaction; breast tenderness and heaviness; prolonged use may lead to thromboembolic manifestations, hepatic disturbances, abnormal bleeding and so on, but these are observed in a small percentage of the pill users only. You may continue to have the medication at your and your doctor's discretion and the need of the situation. Hope your query is answered. Take care.
