Red Dots On Arms Like Freckles. Low Iron. What Can Help?

I have always had red dots on my arms similar to a freckle . I was once told these were due to low iron. Lately I have noticed more of these dots in other places like my chest , stomach and legs. I still have low iron and take supplements . I am wondering if there is any other reason for the dots. They don t itch , are not sores, are not raised.

Hi Hkw2002,
I Have read your Question,
Generally such spots should be temporary and should fade away after some time , but if they persist for months This may be a case of fungal infection. Fungal infection may not present with intense itching. They may present as red spots over the torso .These red spots may have a central clearing with some mild scaling.

Have you had some bouts of flulike symptoms at the onset of your skin condition? Viral infections, allergic reactions may be differentials here. This may not be something urgent as this has been present for the past 5 or 6 months.

You may have this assessed by a dermatologist. You may need some topical medications for this.

So I recommend you to consult a Dermatologist For further Guidance,
I hope this was Informational and wishing you a good health,
Dr.G.Gayatri devi.
