General & Family Physician Dr. Nsah Bernard's  Response
Hello,

There is no particular diet plan when it comes to typhoid fever or salmonellosis but rather you should keep a rigorous hygienic condition around your food intakes including fluids. Ones you receive appropriate treatment against typhoid such as ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, erythromycin, chloramphenicol etc, you will recover fully but if symptoms persist then it is likely that the typhoid must have complicated to perforation, IBS etc or there is an associated resulting inflammatory bowel. In that case, you will need to see a specialist (gastroenterologist) for extensive investigations on complications due to typhoid.

Hope this helps
