Pressure And Bloating In Abdomen. Taking Antacid. Normal?
I am feeling a lot of pressure and bloating, I have been taking an antacid and anti-gas but last night I felt a burning sensation in my stomach and wasn't sure if it was from the anti-gas? It went away after a few minutes and hasn't come back since but I was wondering if it's normal with antacids and anti-gas to get that?
The anti gas /antacids would not have caused the burning sensation in the stomach.
Burning sensation in the stomach is usually due to acidity/ stomach ulcers.
Anyway, glad to know that the burning sensation and other symptoms have disappeared.
Follow a healthy diet. Avoid deep fried/oily/spicy food. Have whole grain cereals, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Certain vegetables like potato, tapioca, beans can cause gas formation and may be avoided if necessary.
Have 8-10 glasses of water a day.
Regular exercise 30 minutes a day 5 days a week might be helpful.
Avoid smoking/alcohol.
Next time if you do develop burning sensation of the stomach, bloating etc,. have a pantoprazole after consulting with your physician.
Hope the information given above was helpful to you.
Take care.
Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
