Prescribed Primolut N For Postponing Periods. Any Side Effects With Having Sex With Intake Of This Medication?

Last month I got my periods on 25th. My periods cycle is 24 to 25 days and it lasts for 2-3 days. This month me and my boyfriend are planning to go to a trip on 19-22nd. I consulted a local doctor and got pills for postponement of periods. The tablet name is premolut N 5mg. They asked me to take one pill on morning and night starting from 19th morning to 22nd night. Now my doubt is, while using that tablet, if I had sexual intercourse, will there be any side effects or will there be high risk of pregnancy?

Welcome to healthcare Magic!
Looking to the length of your cycle I would advise that you should start the pill on 16 sept and continue and stop it when you are comfortable for the flow.
There is hardly any side effect regarding intercourse but it does not give protection against pregnancy.
You must observe barrier precaution during this period.

Hello,
The best way to start PRIMOLUT N is to start taking in dose of 5 mg twice a day 3 days prior to your expected period date and then continue till you want to avoid the periods.The day you stop taking PRIMOLUT ,you will have periods within few days.
There is no chance of pregnancy during consumption of PRIMOLUT.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Your history told that you had regular cycle of 25 days so on date 19-20 you might have your usual period. You have taken pills which postpone your menses which is advisable. You have to continue the tablet untill you want menses. Your period will start after 2-3 days of stopping tablets.
Tablet premolut N- norethinsterone 5 mg two times per day for short time duration is very safe. It is not affecting any sexual intercourse or secretion.

Although you are just near to your period therefore there is very minimum chance of getting pregnancy. Best period of getting pregnant is 12-15 days after last menstruation. During this period ovum and sperm has higher chances of fertilization.
