Pregnant, Itching Throughout Body, White Vaginal Discharge. Urine Test Shows Pus Cells. Treatment?
Hello Sir, I am 24 weeks in pregnancy. my problem is that i am having moderate itching throughout my body several times a day. all my tests show normal but urine r/e has revealed that pus cells are 0-2 /hpf and epithelial cells are 8-10 /hpf in number. moreover, i found a thin white discharge in my underwear when i was returning from hospital the other day. urinobilinogen is normal. pls reply i am slightly panicky i am having itching in my vaginal areas also.

Pregnancy can result in increase in some rashes and worsening of others. There are some rashes that are particular to pregnancy and are associated with itching such as prurigo of pregnancy, pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (blood tests show increase in bile, persons may have itching with or without jaundice)
Most of these are treated with topical anticorticosteroid creams and oral antihistamines.
You should speak to your doctor before using any medication.
In terms of the white discharge pregnancy is associated with increase in normal female discharge, it is also associated with increase incidence of yeast infections which cause a yellow white discharge and vaginal itching.
You doctor can examine you and take a look at the discharge, if it is a yeast infection it is easily treated.
