Hi Nicole,

Firstly, please relax. There is a way out for every problem.

I am afraid; your hemoglobin is very low at 4 gms. I am glad you have an appointment with your Ob. Please go in for an early appointment.

If I were your doctor, I would admit you right away and give you a couple of blood transfusions to raise the hemoglobin levels.

I would like to watch you over at the ward for your vitals. I would also want to watch your fetal heart as well.

Once your hemoglobin levels improve, I would put you on injectable iron for a couple of more weeks and then discharge you with oral Iron and Folic acid supplements.

You may need repeated fetal ultrasound and biophysical profile studies to make sure that the baby is normal.

The other complicated tests fetal sampling and study would be required, if needed.

Please proceed accordingly.

I wish you have a safe and uneventful delivery. Wish you best of luck.
