Pain Under Shoulder And Rib, Tiredness, Fever, White Throat. Taken Z Pack. How Do I Know If Spleen Has Burst?
About six weeks ago I woke up in so much pain under my left rib and shoulder.. I ended up going to a chiropractor ( first time ever) it did not help and eventually the pain just went away.. I have recently been extremely tired.. Slight fever on and off and just last week I noticed my throat was covered on white.. I work for an ENT surgeon and he started me on an antibiotic after looking at my throat.. I was on that for a week and nothing so I started a z pack and still nothing... So 99% sure I have mono.. My concern is that my side pain is back which is more than likely from my spleen being swollen which now I know that was what I had 6 weeks ago... My main concern is how do I know if my spleen burst.. I am 31 and weigh about 95 lbs and I am one tough cookie and I dealt with the intense pain 6 weeks ago even though it was horrible to even breath.. How do I know if I tore my spleen and if I did am I at risk for anything major going on in my body right now?!?!

The pain you experienced may be due to gastritis or due to any musculo skeletal problem. Don't worry for splenic rupture as it is very rare. If spleenic rupture then you may present with sudden fall in BP, bloated or mass and pain in abdomen. You can get done one USG abdomen to rule out it. Now in the interim take plenty of fluids, PPI like pantoprazole daily and NSAID like aceclofenac for pain.
