PCOS. Prescribed Duphaston. Had Discharge For One Day. No Periods Hence. When To Expect Period If Not Pregnant?
Hi, I am a PCOS patient and under medication by glucophage for more than 4 months now. Recently my OB prescribed Duphaston for 10days which started Nov2-Nov11. On Nov 11, I had few dishcharge but it did not continue until date (Nov20). When do I expect my period if I am not pregnant and is it advisable to take a pregtest now or I should wait for few more days.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Poly cystic ovary disease usually presents with irregular menstrual cycles. Generally progesterone pills will be recommended in the second half of the cycle, to regularize the cycles and to maintain the pregnancy if implantation occurs. In case of absence of pregnancy, usually progesterone pills can induce withdrawal bleeding in 7 to 10 days. As it is 10 days over after stopping the progesterone pills, now you can go for blood test for pregnancy for more accurate result. For more details : http://srsree.blogspot.in/2012/05/pregnancy-tests.html If not wait for one week after expected date of periods according to last menstrual period and go for urine test for pregnancy. If the test comes negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less. Then you can consult your gynecologist and can take tablets to induce withdrawal bleeding. Take care.
