Is Duphaston Recommended While Having Regular Periods?

Hi, I've been diagnosed with PCOS. But I've been having regular periods for more than 2 years now (28 to 30 day cycles). We haven't been able to get pregnant yet, which I'm guessing is due to problems with ovulation. My doctor has prescribed duphaston and siphene. Is it necessary for me to take duphaston considering that my periods are pretty regular? Thank you.

Hi

Duphaston Tablet is a synthetic progestogen and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is used to treat menstrual disorders in women caused due to a lack of hormones.

Even in case of regular periods,it may be prescribed post ovulation to support the endometrial development which is the normal function of progesterone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
