Need Help To Clear Confusion Regarding Chest X-ray Result

i am 52 years of age,i fell from the chair,as a result i had severe pain in my left chest region.So i consulted a doctor,he then told me to do a x-ray.Now my pain is not there,but i had a dilemma with my results:-
1.slight crack seen in left 4th rib.
2.coarse bronchovascular marking seen in both lung fields.
3.left costophrenicangle is blunt.
4.cardio thoracic ratio is also increased.
please help me to overcome this dillema......i will be waitin for your kind reply

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Your X ray reports says
1.slight crack seen in left 4th rib.
Small undisplaced rib fracture on the right side.

2.coarse bronchovascular marking seen in both lung fields.
You might have a condition associateed with inflammation of airways.

3.left costophrenicangle is blunt.
Little fluid has accumulated around the left lung.

4.cardio thoracic ratio is also increased
The heart size is mildly increased.

You need to take rest and pain relief medications. Please try not to cough by yourself. If you get fever and cough then you should take a short course of antibiotics.
