Light Pigmentation On Face Due To PCOD. Chemical Peels Or Melacare Cream The Better Option?

Hello Sir, I am 34 years, have light pigmentation on my face due to PCOD problem. I am fine now after taking 4 months pills as advised by Gynaecologist ... I had checked lots of reviews on pigmenation cures and quite confused now. Can I go for some clinical treatments with home care and chemical peels or use Melacare or any other creams. Please suggest the best treatment to overcome this pigmentation Thank you

Dermatologist Dr. Kalpana Pathak's  Response
Hi Anupa,
The treatment of pigmentation depends upon the type of pigmentation you are having.
If it is mild, it can be treated with creams alone
If it is severe or deep, creams peeling sessions or LASERSmight be required
Nevertheless to start with
Use a Glycolic or salicylic acid based face wash
Apply sunscreen regularly even if indoors
Take oral antioxidant and vitamin c supplements
Apply Kojic acid, liquorice arbutin based cream in morning and Glycolic acid or triple combination cream like melacare in night. Do not use melacare for more than a month. If redness or irritation occurs stop using the cream.
Hope that solves your query. Take care.
