Itchy Spot On Vagina. No Help With Creams. Had Unprotected Sex. Suggestions?

Hi, about a week ago i had a itchy spot on the outer right side of my vagina , not near the lips just in the pubic are in general, i shave every other day. the next day it was kinda raw. I have been trying different creams and things to make it go away. It has not spread or got larger it does not hurt and I do not have any other symptoms as far as discharge , pain or anything. Im starting to worry about it because it wont go away. I had sex a month ago unprotected and confronted the guy and he says he has nothing. I have tried to google and nothing looks familiar to it. it just looks reddish, raw and maybe a little moist. Can you help me.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. Itchy spot can be due to use of sprays, douches, creams/oitments. Shaving vagina every next day can be a cause of allergy/sensitiveness of skin, perhaps you have over done it. You should stop shaving for a few days. Wear loose cotton pantyhose, take care of your hygiene, wash genital area with warm water every time you go to the restroom. Keep the genital ares dry. Avoid sex till you are not fine.

It can also be due to infection through use of toilet papers, yeast infection or STD. Get examined clinically. You should also get vaginal cultures, urine test (R/E,C/S), blood test for VDRL,etc done.

On the basis of the infection detected you will be treated with anti-fungal medications, vaginal suppositories, antibiotics, etc. Treatment depends upon the severity of the infection detected.

Take calcium rich diet, diet high in protein balanced with fruits and veggies will be helpful for you. Take care.
