Itching In The Upper Thighs And Abdomen. Took Medication. Reddish Blisters Turning To Raised Petechial Lesions. Viral Infection?
Ok. So I will pose this question. I'm a 20 plus pediatric office nurse 38 years of age. Developed uri symptoms afeb and intense itching of upper thighs and lower abdominal region with some general errythemia. Scratching led to secondary staph which I was treated for with doxy and rifampin. Completed meds 5 days ago but itching and small deep blisters which turn into raised petechial lesions esp on palms and soles persist. ? VIRAL?????
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic Itching and deep blisters over palms and soles could be pompholyx or id eruption. The cause for id eruption could be your uri or staphylococcal infection or even an un-diagnosed tinea or fungal infection over your upper thighs and lower abdomen. I recommend you to see a dermatologist for assessment. The viral infection which can cause vesicles over palms and soles is Hand foot and mouth disease. But they are painful and you may have ulcers in the mouth as well. Hope this helped Take care
