Is There Any Side Effects From Taking Montek LC Everyday For Allergy?

Actually I am allergic to dust. Frequently I am getting cold cough sneezing breathing prob and itching in the eyes nose. Definitely the prob increases when I take head bath or do dusting. Either I'll get sever head ache not able to bend down or running nose or breathing prob. If I have running nose no breathing prob or headache same vice versa. I consulted gen physician E& T specialist . they r prescribing Allegra, Montair, Montek LC. If I take 1 tab of Montek LC daily I am fine. But I am getting afraid how long I can take this medicine. any side effects will be there? Already 2 years onwards I am having this prob ., I tried Homeo medicine but twice I tried for 4 months and atlast got severe prob and started taking alopathy medicine
My qn is shall I take Montek LC daily ? How long I can take ( Becuase if I stop that medicine I am getting prob). Is it advisable to use that for months / years. Even I am having skin allergy itching and rashes in the legs

Hi! Montek LC is safe to take in allergic rhinitis for the long term. I would generally prescribe it for 90 days at a stretch to those who absolutely need to have it and then see if I could wean them off it. If on stopping the drug the symptoms quickly re-emerged then I would put them back on the drug for another three month period. One study done in 2010 states that a patient can take this for years, if necessary. However I would advise you to keep in touch with your doctor during such a long term intake and inform him of any unusual symptom you might notice.
