Urologist 's  Response
Hi
As of now I would suggest that you meet with a regular urologist rather than rely on over the counter prescriptions. Saw palmetto and other similar prostate tonics and herbal medicines have generally proven to be no better than placebo and any relief obtained is usually transient.
There is a drug called dutasteride which works well for reducing prostate enlargement scientifically but is definitely not available without a prescription, and I suggest you discuss regarding its usage when you meet your doctor. This should be taken in combination with another drug, preferably an alpha - blocker for best relief of prostate symptoms.
Hope I could help you.
Regards.
