Is The Abnormal Beta HCG During Pregnancy Is A Matter Of Concern?

When I was 6 weeks my GYN recommend hormones for 2 weeks because something was low in my labs, then at 8 weeks I had a small bleeding I went to the hospital and the baby was fine. They told me not to lift weight and no sex. Then when I was 16 weeks did ultrasound and lots of labs and they said the baby was fine, but the free beta hcg was not normal. (36.3 (ng/ml) mom 4.38 and %ile 99, she said that I might develop preeclampsia or the baby was going to be small, I m 35 y/o and 165 lbs. After that they did 3 more ultrasound and they say everything is fine. Is there something I should worry about

Hi,
If the anomalies scan did not detect any abnormal findings, if the relative growth of the baby in regular sonogram follow up is good, things are positive. Doppler and/or cardiotocogram may be done to monitor fetal well being; biophysical profile can be done at a later stage. Please take adequate rest preferably in left lateral position to improve the placental circulation. Do not stress and do not worry, a single parameter is not enough to determine abnormal pregnancy outcome. Wish you good health.
