hi doc, im 23 y/o. my menstruation is normal, suddenly it stopped for 2months now. i thought im pregnant, i ve used two pregnancy test already and it says negative. i got paranoid, i was also thinking that i might have an ectopic pregnancy that s why it was not detected in the PT, and this doesn t happen before that i missed my period. i ve decided to get an ultrasound..and as per findings of the sonologist, it says transabdominal scanning followed by transvaginal sonogram shows a normal sized uterus measuring about 4.3cm x 4.3cm x 3.9 cm (LxWxH). Parenchyma is homogenous. Endometrial stripe is intact measuring about 0.9cm. No focal mass noted. Right Ovary = 3.6cm x 1.6cm (LxH) Left Ovary = 2.4 cm x 2.1cm (LxH) Both ovaries have multiple peripherally located anechoic structure The impression says polycystic ovaries , unremarkable uterus . Is polycystic ovaries a disease?if it is, has it something to do with the genes? because my older sister has PCOS also, she s been married for 6yrs and she doen t get pregnant yet. i hope you could help me. thanks...
