Is On And Off Spotting Sign Of Pregnancy?

i am off pill since feb last year. also, I had my pap smear feb last year. and another on july, 2010. Both results were perfect. I am afraid of getting pregnant unprepared. This month of January, 2011, I took again contraceptive pill for one month. Supposedly my expected day of period is February 1, 2011 (28th day).. last night was my 32nd day and had a spotting & stopped. Should I wait for 10 days more to know if I got pregnant the past month?

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not worry.

2 ) If you have consumed your birth control pills, regularly, then you need not worry about the pregnancy.

3 ) In my opinion, you may be starting your periods shortly. You can simply wait for the onset of periods for a week beyond the expected date.

4 ) If you happen to miss out on the periods till then, in that case I will suggest you to get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy. In case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help. .

5 ) As you have discontinued the pills even before, I will suggest you the use of barrier method of contraception like condom, this will help you to prevent the unwanted pregnancy and STDs.

6 ) When you are preparing for the parenthood, I will suggest you to indulge in a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Start on Folic acid, Vitamin B 12 and Omega 3 supplements at least 3 months before you plan to get pregnant. This will help to prevent various complications during the pregnancy.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
