What Could Yellow Pap In The Back Bone Suggest?

Dear Doctor, I am writing about the son on friend. He is 14 years old very healthy boy. He has a problem in his back bone by birth. The end of the back bone in his body produces Pap (yellow colour which is normally developed in injuries) which flows through the heel. Doctors in Oman says this is a medical disirder and there is no cure for this disease. Every three months doctor cut a piece from his feet and remove the Pap (yellow liquid) which is having very bad smell. After cleaning Boy feel no pain. What is the name of this disease? Is there any medice for it?

Hello,

It could be a pilonidal cyst or an epidermoid cyst, which is causing the pain and the yellow liquid. Spinal surgery may be needed to remove it completely. You should discuss with a spinal surgeon.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
