Is It Safe To Take Zoloft In Two Doses?

I have been taking 100 mg of zoloft for about 2 weeks now which is sort of working. I also take 2 mg of Klonopin per day as needed, which does not help at all. My question is, would it be okay if I split my zoloft into two doses (50 mg in the morning, 50 mg at night)? Would it make it any more effective?

Just as a side note, other than a complete lack of appetite, I do not have any other side effects from either medication. Thank you.

Hello
You are taking antidepressant ZOLOFT ( SERTRALINE 100 mg ).
You are having anorexia and this is a very common side effect of sertraline , so need not to worry. You can take cyproheptadine+sorbitol+tricholin , available in syrup form 2-4 TSF 1 hour before each principal meal.
The normal dose of zoloft is 25 mg to 200 mg / day , in your case your doctor advise 100 mg and you want to take 50 mg twice in day , it is useless because plasma half life of t1/2 is 26 hours i.e. 50 mg or 100 mg it will act till 24 hours , so it is better to take 50 mg once in day and this will be effective in your case because this will act as a maintenance dose and you will be happy with this dose.
50 mg twice in day will not be more effective .
Hope this will help you.
