Is It Safe To Take Betacap TR 40 During Pregnancy?

My wife, 24 yrs. old is taking Betacap TR 40 with Mysoline for the last one year twice in a day as per the prescription of a Neurologist in AIIMS, New Delhi for her treatment in Head Titubation. Now she is pregnant for the last 6 weeks and Doctor has advised to discontinue Mysoline but did not tell anything about Betacap TR 40. Would she continue with Betacap TR 40 at this time?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

In my opinion Betacap TR is generally stopped once a patient is determined to be pregnant. I would advise you to contact the prescribing physician tomorrow and inform them of your concerns. Ask if she should be continued on this with her now being pregnant.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. David Girardi, Internal Medicine Specialist
