I have a strata valve VP shunt and just had readjusted on the 28th of May, it s now the 21st of June and the headaches are back. I keep reading that there is a huge incidence of malfunctions in this type of valve. Is it wise to tell my Dr. to replace the system?

Question : The headaches are back. Is it wise to tell my Dr. to replace the system? Answer : I would suggest you to visit your doctor so that he changes the pressure. I don't think that there is a need to replace the system as long as the shunt drains. Just because it has malfunctioned in some one else does not mean it has to malfunction in you.
