Is It Possible That Koch's Infection Has Left Scars In Chest Which Will Be Shown On Chest X Ray?

Hi, I had a chest xray last 2009 and it say that I have a Koch's infection. I've undergone 6 months medication and my chest xrays now shows clear and normal findings. I'm about to undergo chest xray again for a visa application and I'm really worried because I have a cold right now. Would it affect the result of the xray. And also, I'm quite nervous if I have scar caused by my previous infection. I just had a chest xray last october 2013 and my doctor said that there no scar. Should I still worry? Thank you.

Hi. My name is Vinay. Let me see if I can put you at ease with some information.

Yes. A new x-ray might show evidence of an 'old' treated Koch's infection.

But not to worry.

If I was in your shoes I would speak to the visa authorities and give them evidence of the medical treatment you have received for 6 months (your prescriptions, etc).

They may ask you to get more tests. But they will work with you to help you get the visa.

Hope this helps.

Vin
