General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to Upper Respiratory tract infection.
As your nasal mucosa is congested & the olfactory component is deranged, you are appreciating the smell of ammonia even if it is not present.
Tylenol being an analgesic anti-pyretic preparation will take care of fever & body ache.

Symptomatic management of cold includes:
1. Steam inhalation.
2. Nasal decongestant drops.
3. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity reports.
4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief.
5. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet.
6. Also make sure that you are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.

So, kindly consult an ENT specialist & start treatment as advised.
Wish you good health & a speedy recovery.
Take care.
