Is It Normal To Experience Weakness After Taking Rozavel For Cholesterol?

Thanks Doctor. I am 71 yrs.old. I was prescribed Rozavel F. My cholesterol is 254 mg. After taking this tablet for 10 days I felt weakness in the body. Should I continue this tablet. I think it may be due to some side effects. Please advise me.

Hi,

Suggestive of Rozavel-F induced side effects. Rozavel-F is a combination of rosuvastatin and fenofibrate commonly prescribed the treatment of combined hyperlipidemia (high blood cholesterol and triglycerides).

Based on the history you seem to have developed symptoms suggestive of myopathy apparently caused by Rozavel-F. I advise you to stop taking this medication and ask your doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medication.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
