Hi,

The symptoms you have described are not due to withdrawal but are the body's defensive mechanism against harmful substances. Since you are no longer smoking regularly, the tissues of your respiratory tract have healed and the muco-ciliary clearance, which is the self-clearing mechanism of the respiratory tract, has improved. That is why, when you now smoke, the respiratory tract tries to expel the smoke particles and other irritants by producing a lot of secretions and sneezing.

Hope this is of help. Best wishes.
