Is Change Of Medication Required If The Random PP Sugar Level Is High?

Hi...I am male 44 years diagnised with DB type 2 last year with Hba1C 7.6. i am having medicine Amaryle M1 i tab in morning and Jalra 50-1000 i tablet in evening with a station ( Caat10) for a year. My recent Hba1c shows 6.9, but random PP sugar are around 170-180. Please suggest whether I need change of medication or not? I do not suffer from any other health problem and play badmiinton regularly.

Hi,

You need to have an additional medicine to control your blood sugar. HbA1c of 6.9 is suggestive of poorly controlled blood sugar. You need to have an additional medicine or to increase the dose of Amaryl-M1 for the effective control of blood sugar.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
