Hello,

General symptoms of Poly cystic ovary disease are irregular menstrual periods, anovulation, insulin resistance, infertility, etc.

Appearance and severity of symptoms may vary from person to person. The more accurate answer can be given if you had mentioned the clinical history. Anyhow, if your wife is having any of the above symptoms she needs treatment.

Treatment depends on symptoms, usually hormonal pills, insulin sensitizers are recommended for a few months. These will help in regularizing the menstrual cycles and ovulation.

The other measures that can help are:
- Taking healthy, balanced diet
- Maintaining normal BMI.
- Regular calorie burning exercise.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
